Emma has been sent to stay with her Aunt Clara's friend Josie for a few days. Curiosity gets the better of her and she is caught going into Josie's bedroom and going through her wardrobe as well as being suspected of using her hairbrush. That evening, Emma is confronted and hauled onto the bed for a sound spanking, followed by a real introduction to the hairbrush. Her cheekiness makes it all the worse for her and she is soon promising to stay in her own room while she is a guest.
