Emma is told by her Aunt Clara to do the ironing and finish her chores before she can go out and meet friends. She gets a call from Simon, who her Aunt thinks is a particularly bad influence on her, and decides to go out. She leaves the ironing unfinished and hides the basket in her wardrobe. When Aunt Clara returns Emma tries to argue her way out of it and lies about finishing the ironing. Aunt Clara has none of it and marches Emma into the lounge where she is spanked and caned, and reminded she is in her Aunt's charge under her rules and strict discipline.
