Once again this couple is in my office for an update on how their money situation is going. It seems they are following the steps we agreed upon in the last session to meet their goals. He has been working very hard to replace the money he used without telling her, only to find out she has been spending it as fast as he was replacing it! She felt perfectly justified in pampering herself as a kind of revenge for his spending. I was not happy to hear about this passive aggressive behavior. It was her turn to take some of my therapy so I bent her over and began her punishment. Meanwhile as I am trying to get my point across to her he is in the background antagonizing her and I finally had enough of his mouth and made him join her in the punishment! Side by side they stood both getting what I felt they deserved for train wrecking their bank account! Will they ever get on the same page?
